A Spectator a magyar putyinistákról

Thomas Lorman a University College of London oktatójának tollából jelent meg ma egy cikk a konzervatív Spectatorban “Viktor Orban played a perfect game with Putin” címmel.

Érdemes idézni néhány mondatot a cikkből

“Hungary has, therefore, put itself in the best position possible to avoid Putin’s wrath. Indeed, Orbán has insisted that Hungary will do nothing to risk its import of cheap Russian oil and gas. Celebrating rapid economic growth and keeping the bills low are key parts of Orbán’s re-election campaign. Meanwhile, Hungary remains dependent on Russian loans and know-how to maintain its nuclear power plants.”

“Orbán is not a deep thinker but he understands where power comes from and how power in the region works. As Europe unites in its condemnation of Russia, Hungary will follow suit. But in the longer term it will find a way of keeping on good terms with the Kremlin.“

Lorman három hete is írt Magyarország és Putyin kapcsolatáról és abban a cikkben ír a magyar putyinistákról.

“Economic cooperation was fortified by Orbán and Putin’s shared values. Both project a macho image and both believe in aggressive politics modelled on their favourite sports (football and judo respectively). Crucially, the pair see themselves as defenders of Christian and national values against an interfering West. Both attend religious services, funnel money into their countries’ established churches, and have made the defence of persecuted Christians a crux of their foreign policies.”

“Orbán presides over a party that is almost cultish in its outward loyalty to him. Behind the scenes, however, there are rival factions competing for influence, one of which favours closer links with Putin while another desires warmer relations with the EU. Orbán faces parliamentary elections in April which he should win. Nevertheless, the margin of his victory matters. If he secures another landslide, Fidesz’s pro-Russian faction will argue that his clashes with the EU and his alliance with Putin are popular and should therefore be intensified. Orbán’s annual meetings with Putin may become even more convivial.”

Dr. Lorman ezt nem az ujjából szopta, erről nyilván tudnak a brit kormány környékén, és gondolom más kormányok környékén is. A FIDESZ holdudvarának egy része megszállottan Amerika-ellenes és Putyin-párti, ezt elég jól lehet látni, de az nem világos számomra, hogy kik vannak mögöttük, gondolom Kövér László az egyik. Az, hogy Magyarország egyedül nem írta alá a B9-ek nyilatkozatát Ukrajna EU-s integrációjáról és az, ahogy Szijjártó halálos fegyverek szállítási tilalmáról értekezett (az enyhe bőrpírt okozó lőfegyvereket állítólag átengedik, kivéve persze, ha nem okoznak gyomorhurutot) azt mutatja, hogy Magyarországon valakik nagyon szeretnék megmutatni Vlagyimir Vlagyimirovicsnak, hogy jó kisfiúk, aki aztán vagy elhiszi nekik, vagy sem, és ez vagy releváns lesz egyszer, vagy nem, franc se tudja, hogy mi folyik ma Európában.
